Here are a few tidbits about Mrs. Holman.
Family
Home Life
Mrs. Holman married Mr. Holman (6th Grade Teacher at PRES) in 1997. They met in 1994 in a competitive swimming workshop. They have three great kids! Abigail attends San Francisco State, Andrew goes to UCSC, and Emily teaches at Cal State San Marcos where she is getting her Masters in Creative Writing/Literature.
Mrs. Holman and her family live in Durham on an almond orchard that they farm. They have two dogs, a cat, and six chickens. When she is at home, she spends time with family playing games (indoor and outdoor), watching Netflix, going for walks, and swimming.
Hobbies
Mrs. Holman's favorite hobby is hanging out with family. She loves to travel with them. She is a huge Disney fan and has been to Disneyland over 137 times. She has also been to Disney world and has run 6 Disney 5K races. She also loves to read.
The Past 20+ Years
Besides teaching, Mrs. Holman has done Gerontology research in sociology and biology with aging rats. She has worked retail and has sold antiques in a shop. She has been in charge of Chico State interns and has owned a magazine. For 10 year, she was an editor of two magazines. Mrs. Holman is also a breast cancer survivor. Life has been eventful so far!
Background and Education
Mrs. Holman lived in Los Angeles until the 2nd grade. From 2nd grade until college, she lived in San Diego. She got an AA degree in Liberal Studies in San Diego (Grossmont College), earned a BS in Gerontology/PreMed from University of Southern California (USC), and got her teaching credential at Chico State. She has special teaching certifications in Science, Math, ELA, and Art.
Teaching
Mrs. Holman has 17 years of teaching experience. She started teaching in 1998 in Palermo. She has taught 5th grade, 2nd Grade, and 3rd grade. She took some time off to raise her children and work from home. She was in charge of Chico State interns, subbed for years, published a magazine, and then came back to teaching. This will be her 8th year in Paradise.
